The True Meaning of Credit Repair - Repair Credit Tips
stellar. One such person is Liza. She is a young, single mom who had
no idea how her bad credit would impact her ability to find a place
for her and her son to live. As Liza began the process of purchasing

her credit report is completely accurate. This in turn, ensures one's
credit score is the best that it can be. It also describes the way one
organizes his or her finances to eliminate debt and ultimately rebuild
credit to become eligible for things like mortgages and auto loans.
When she looked for companies that could help her repair her credit,
Liza found hundreds of credit repair companies to choose from.
Figuring out where to start was completely overwhelming.

What you should expect from your Credit Repair (CR) Company:
1) According to the Credit Repair Organization Act of 1996, all CR
organizations must give you a copy of the 'Consumer Credit File Rights
Under State and Federal Law' before you sign any contracts with them.
It is important that you take the time to read this and understand
this.
2) Credit repair companies must also provide you with a written
contract that explains in detail your rights and obligations to the
contract. The contract must contain information that shows payment
terms with total cost of services, a completely detailed description
of the services that they will be performing for you, a list of any
and all guarantees that they offer as well as how long it will take
for them to achieve results with your credit. If the contract is
missing any of this information, it is important that you do not sign
the contract and perhaps even go looking for another company to do
business with.
3) You should expect that the CR company that you choose will not
expect any payment up front. Payment should only be rendered with they
have completed the services as outlined in the contract.
4) Never trust a company that promises to create a new identity for
you. This is usually done in an illegal manner and should be avoided
as it is considered fraud.
5) A good CR service will not only tell you to get your credit reports
and review them with you, but they will also help you dispute any
problems.
The truth of the matter is that no one can remove negative information
from your credit report if that negative information is true. Accurate
negative information on your credit report will stay there for at
least seven years or more. All good credit repair agencies will
understand this and should be able to provide you with alternative
ways to improve your credit score other then just removing the
negatives.

Will Debt Settlement Affect My Credit Score?

card debt settlement. Obviously, this form of debt relief (like all
others) has some critics, which leads to at least a little skepticism
amongst consumers who might be considering debt settlement.
One of the most common questions that are asked of debt settlement is
whether or not it will have a negative impact on your credit score.
The answer is yes, no and maybe. You see, each person's situation is
different, so depending on your own personal financial status, credit
card debt settlement may have a negative impact on your credit score.
If your bills are always paid on time each month, and your credit
score is relatively high, I can say with a great deal of confidence
that your credit score will be compromised by the time your accounts
are settled. Most people who are paying their bills on time, but are
seeking debt relief, do so because they tend to find themselves
borrowing from one creditor to pay another in an effort to keep their
finances afloat each month. Unfortunately, by doing this you're really
not keeping your finances afloat; rather, you're getting yourself
deeper in debt. Your credit score might appear to be okay, but overall
your finances are lacking the type of stability that is needed to
truly stay afloat. In situations like these, people notice that their
credit score may fall below 700, sometimes dipping to as low as 500
during the delinquency period that is required to negotiate with
creditors. After all of your accounts are settled, and reflecting zero
balances, however, you'll see your credit score increase and reach a
level which is considered to be high enough for credit approval on an
auto loan or home mortgage within 9-12 months.
Those individuals whose accounts are already delinquent will likely
not see their credit score negatively impacted due to debt settlement.
Rather, those who fall into this category will find that their credit
scores will increase significantly after all of their accounts are
settled and reflecting zero balances. Let's face it - delinquency is
what really impacts a credit score, so by remedying this delinquency,
whether through full payoffs or reduced debt settlement payoffs, your
credit score has nowhere to go but up.
In summary, depending on your personal financial situation, your
credit score may be negatively affected by debt settlement, or this
process can have a positive affect. Again, this all depends on your
own financial situation. Debt settlement has helped many individuals,
families and small businesses to avoid bankruptcy and/or years of
paying high interest to various creditors.

Repair Credit Fast - 5 Things to Get Off Your Credit Report Quickly
bankruptcy are bad for your credit. What you may not realize however,
is that the three major credit bureaus give different weight to
various different kinds of debts and flaws within your credit report.
There are five different things that you should always avoid getting
on your credit report, as they can be incredibly damaging and hard to
get rid of when you want to repair credit fast.
Foreclosures
If you are unable to make payments on your home, then the bank will
more than likely move into the foreclosure process, and attempt to
sell your home to someone in the hopes of reclaiming their money. Once
this happens, there is nothing you can do, and even if you manage to
cut a deal and keep your home, the negative effects of not paying on
time can harm your credit score as well. These detrimental processes
take seven years to be removed from your credit report, and make it
almost impossible to repair credit fast.
Bankruptcies
This is perhaps the single worst thing you could do to your credit.
Bankruptcies stay on your credit for ten years, and can likely keep
you from getting credit extended to you for any reason. This does seem
like a grand idea when you are faced with debt that you can't pay, but
it should be stressed that if you want to repair credit fast, then you
should avoid bankruptcies at all costs.
Charge Offs
Charge offs occur when you fail to make payments on a debt for 3-6
months in a row. The creditors will then write your debt as a charge
off, and can submit or sell it to a collection agency. A charge off
will stay on your credit for seven years, even if you pay the debt
through a collection agency at a later date. So, charge offs should be
avoided if possible.
Tax Liens
There are several kinds of tax liens that can be detrimental to your
credit report. When you owe the government state or federal taxes that
you do not pay, then they can place a tax lien against you, which will
not allow you to get financed for anything until the debt is paid. If
you wanted to repair credit fast with a tax lien, the odds are against
you.
Judgments of Any Kind
When you fail to make payments and collection agencies have no luck
collecting a debt from you, they can take you to court and get a
judgment for that debt against you. Judgments are horrible for your
credit score because they show that not only did you not pay, but you
had to be taken to court as a drastic method for a company to get what
you owe them. Judgments also stay on your credit for seven years,
which gives them plenty of time to be seen.
The five things above are items that you never want to see on your
credit report. While late payments are enough to lower your score
significantly, these items could make it almost impossible for you to
repair credit fast.
